If you have to get chains - you can get them at Walmart, which is open until midnight at most locations! We had a 4-wheel drive vehicle, but after 22+ inches of snow, were glad we also got chains. Our flight landed at 9pm so we were worried we wouldn't be able to find a store, but so glad we did

We visited Lake Tahoe and it was amazing. Carson City has waterfalls that are unbelievable. The entire area is full of hiking and walking trails.

- TSA Pre Check/Global Entry are musts. - Once you have packed, take out 10% of what you think you will need..... you aren't going to need it. - Bring an empty bottle in your carry on and fill it up after you clear security, save yourself on overpriced water. - Get a set at the bulkhead or in the emergency row, this way there are no seats in front of you that can be reclined on you.

Reno offers lots of local attractions. They have numerous casinos if gambling is your thing. There is lots of local hiking within 10 minutes of down town. It may take some time but if you find them there are lots of amazing resteraunts. We found great pho, salvadorian, and Mediterranean food. Reno is a great spot for an affordable getaway.

Traveling to Reno has never been a problem for me. There are so many places to visit while there from Carson City to Virginia City. Neither place ever gets old and I been going there to both places since 1994. Lake Tahoe is also just a hop, skip and a jump from Reno.

Definitely go check out the Reno sign. We also saw the old Reno sign which was great as well. Patagonia recently opened an outlet store in Reno. Bonanza casino is right nearby UN's campus.

Small city with plenty of outdoor activities. There are 14 ski resorts that can be reached within 1.5 hrs driving, the closest one is only about 35 minutes away!
